U16'S BOYS COACH
Simon is an FA Level 1 qualified coach who originally got involved with coaching two of his daughter’s teams at Heyside Angels around 10 years ago.
In 2015, along with Simon Dowd, he set up an U11 development team for players who had been discarded by other teams following the transition from 7v7 to 9v9 football. During that 4 years, the lads have developed at a rapid rate and, in the last two seasons they have won back to back promotions, appeared in two major cup finals and won their first league title.
Simon has participated in the Manchester FA Coaching Mentoring scheme and is looking to move to Level 2 and beyond as the boys move towards open age football with Crompton FC. Simon is also a qualified rugby league coach and former rugby league journalist. He works for a well-known insurer and investigates doctors and medical fraud for a living.
